Buy cacti & succulents online?
Cacti are among the houseplants that tend to be easier to care for, because their leaf structure allows them to tolerate longer periods of drought. So they can get along without further care even during the holiday season. In addition, these plants give your room an exotic flair. A sunny window seat is best - this way the plants get enough light.

FAQ - things worth knowing
How do I properly care for cacti?
Location: Most cacti require plenty of sunlight to stay healthy. Therefore, place your cactus in a sunny spot near a window. Avoid direct sunlight in summer when it gets too hot. However, some species of cacti do well in shade, so you should do some research on the needs of your specific species of cactus.
Watering: Cacti shouldn't be watered too often as they usually grow in dry areas and are adapted to drought. Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. As a rule, it is sufficient to water cacti once a week in summer and every two to three weeks in winter. Avoid watering the cactus too much as this can cause root rot.
Soil: Use a special cactus soil or mix regular potting soil with sand and perlite to ensure good drainage.
Temperature: Most cactus species prefer warm temperatures and can tolerate temperatures of up to 30°C. However, avoid extreme temperature fluctuations and make sure that the cactus does not get too cold in winter.
Fertilization: Cacti usually do not need a lot of fertilizer. You can use a cactus fertilizer once a month or every six weeks.
Pests: Watch out for pests like spider mites or scale insects. If necessary, use an insecticide or remove the pests manually.
Repotting: Cacti don't need to be repotted often as they tend to be slow growers. However, they should be repotted every few years to ensure an adequate supply of nutrients. Use a pot large enough to support the cactus' growth.
How do I propagate or root cacti?
To properly propagate or root a cactus, there are a few important steps to follow:
1. Cut off a healthy shoot of the cactus and dip the cutting edge in powdered charcoal or sulfur. The shoot should be at least 10 cm long and free from damage or disease.
2. Allow the shoot to dry for at least 2 weeks to seal the interface and prevent moisture from entering the cut.
3. Prepare the rooting substrate by using a purely mineral substrate such as lava, pumice, zeolite, perlite, bird sand or similar with a grain size of up to 3 mm.
4. Fill a small pot with the rooting substrate
5. Stick the cut shoot about 2-3 cm deep into the substrate and press the substrate firmly around the stem.
6. Put the pot in a bright place, but not in direct sunlight. The temperature should be between 20-25°C.
7. After a few weeks you should be able to see the first signs of root growth. When the roots are sufficiently developed, you can gently water the cactus.
It's important to note that not all cactus species are easy to root and some may have special requirements. So always research the specific needs of your cactus species and make sure you are using appropriate and materials.
How often should cacti or succulents be fertilized?
Cacti and succulents generally don't need fertilizer as frequently as other plants, as they typically grow in poor soil and have adapted to extreme conditions. However, it is important to provide them with nutrients every now and then to encourage their growth and health.
Most cacti and succulents require fertilizer about once a month during the growing season, which usually occurs in spring and summer. During the dormant period in fall and winter, they usually require little or no fertilizer.
You should choose a fertilizer that is specially formulated for cacti and succulents and will meet the plants' nutritional needs without overfeeding them. It is important to read the instructions on the fertilizer pack carefully and not to exceed the recommended amount.
If you use organic fertilizer, you can also apply it in small amounts every 2-3 months. Avoid over-fertilizing, however, as this can lead to a build-up of salts in the soil, which can damage the roots of the plants.
Overall, it is better to fertilize too little than too much. If you are unsure how often you should fertilize your cacti and succulents, you can use the season and the growth behavior of your plants as a guide and fertilize as needed.
How are the cacti and succulents shipped?
We follow a few important steps to ensure cacti and succulents arrive undamaged:
1. We select a suitable shipping box large enough to hold the cactus and a protective layer of cushioning material.
2. We use a cushioning material such as organic cornstarch packing chips or newspaper to protect the cactus from bumps during transportation.
3. We pack the cactus in paper or plastic to protect it from moisture during transportation.
4. We fill all empty spaces in the shipping carton with cushioning material to ensure it stays in place.
5. We only ship at suitable temperatures. If it gets too cold for the plants, we place heat packs in the shipping packages.
