Ferrocactus glaucescens inermis is a subspecies of Ferrocactus glaucescens, a species of cacti native to North America. This subspecies is characterized by the fact that, unlike other subspecies of Ferrocactus glaucescens, it has no thorns, only spines.
The Ferrocactus glaucescens inermis is blue-green in color and forms single spherical plants up to a meter in diameter. The spines, which protect it from predators, are brown and relatively short compared to the spines of other cactus species.
The Ferrocactus glaucescens is considered the ideal base for grafting Ariocarpus or other slow-growing cacti.
