Lophophora fricii is a species of cactus native to Mexico. Also known as Fric's Peyote or Rio Grande Peyote, it is closely related to the better known peyote cactus (Lophophora williamsii).
Lophophora fricii forms a small, flat or spherical structure, typically 1-8 cm in diameter. The ribs are flat and wide. Unlike the peyote cactus, Lophophora fricii usually has only one flower that is deep pink in color.
Lophophora fricii is relatively rare in its range and is used for spiritual purposes by some indigenous peoples in Mexico. Overall, however, relatively little is known about Lophophora fricii, since it was only recently identified as a separate species.
