Tephrocactus alexanderi is a species of plant in the genus Tephrocactus in the cactus family (Cactaceae). This species is native to Argentina and prefers to grow in the arid regions of the Andes.
Tephrocactus alexanderi has an erect, cylindrical trunk with a diameter of about 5-10 cm and can reach a height of up to 50 cm. The surface of the trunk is usually dark green and covered with warty outgrowths. The thorns of the plant are relatively short, sparse and stand in groups.
